Statement from Tali Farhadian Weinstein: Remembering George Floyd

NEW YORK – “George Floyd was a son, a brother, a nephew, and a father. And he was Black. In 8 minutes, 46 seconds, Derek Chauvin took his life, and his murder served as a wake-up call for our entire country. We must demand justice, police accountability, and commitment for people of color who are targeted rather than protected by law enforcement. As a country, we must work every day to end racism in the institutions meant to keep us safe and help our communities thrive. United, we can and will balance fairness, safety, and justice for all people.”
